Bus / dolmuş: pros and cons
Airport shuttles and dolmuş minibuses are the most economical option. But they drop you at a transfer point (usually Fethiye bus station); from there you still need a taxi or a second minibus to your hotel. Departures may not match your flight, and late-night arrivals may find no service at all. With luggage and children these changes get tiring.
VIP transfer: pros and cons
A private transfer is door to door: your driver will be waiting at arrivals and takes you straight to your hotel. The vehicle is TÜRSAB & D2 licensed, well-maintained and clean; the price is fixed per vehicle, not per person — for a large family the per-head cost can approach the bus. Child seats are free, your flight is tracked, you pay in cash or by card in the vehicle, and the driver waits even if you are delayed. The only downside is that, for a solo traveller on a very tight budget, it costs more than the bus.
Which suits you?
Travelling solo, light on luggage and with time to spare? The bus does the job. Travelling as a family, arriving late, with children or babies, or simply wanting to rest? A direct, fixed-price VIP transfer usually offers the better balance of time and peace of mind.
The hidden costs
A bus ticket may look cheap, but you will likely need a taxi or a second minibus from the bus station to your hotel; after dark, that extra leg often costs more and may involve haggling. Changing vehicles with heavy luggage, a pushchair or golf clubs also costs time and energy. None of this applies with a VIP transfer: the price is fixed at the time of booking, there's no extra charge for luggage, and there are no surprise mark-ups.
